Finding a Pony Handler/Trainer

I want to get into Pony Play, it really speaks to me and is interesting, but I can’t find a partner (Handler or Trainer) to explore this with me!

Many pony-curious folks on social media.

As is so often the case in so many other D/s dynamics, there are far more of us pony types than there are Handlers. This is an unfortunate situation, but it only becomes truly regrettable when a pony decides that they cannot begin learning about their inner pony until they have found this elusive Handler!

The truth is, it may take you a while to meet your handler. but you shouldn’t let that stop you from exploring your pony headspace. Consider this: are you looking for a handler to train your pony self? Or are you looking for a Dominant to turn you, a person, into a pony? The two situations are actually quite different, and while the latter has a certain appeal (I’m sure I’ll do a post on “forced” pony play at some point), the former circumstance seems to be far more common.

So, assuming you want to be a pony but just aren’t sure howgood news! You don’t need a handler to begin. You can watch Youtube to learn about horse mannerisms; in fact, if you search Youtube for “EQUUS IPPE”, you can even find some Pony Player videos! You can practice making horse noises. Start practicing your footwork, your body language, your gaits and movements. Toss that head! Make the best whinny you can!

Begin learning to lose yourself in the moment; from this, your headspace will develop, and your pony self will emerge!

When you do find a pony handler or, more than likely, a partner who is interested in becoming a pony handler because it is important to you, it will be easier for them if you already have an idea about your pony self. Then, you two will be able to focus on developing a repertoire, instead of starting from square one! And this is where the fun really starts. I was already a fully-formed Ponyboy when I began working with my Handler. The last two years have been a wonderful exploration within the dynamic, where we have established a wonderful verbal and non-verbal vocabulary between us. This has allowed Jenn to guide my pony behavior, but not how to be a pony.

Your pony is in you, longing to get out. Don’t make it wait longer than it must, start releasing it little by little today!
